Diving / Below waterline parts
Zinc anodes for below-the-waterline protection in Panama (guarding propellers, shafts and hull against galvanic corrosion) are sourced by model through ArtiYacht. In warm salt water zinc is consumed faster, so inspect it every few months and replace it before it's fully gone.
Everything below the waterline suffers constant galvanic corrosion in salt water. Sacrificial zinc anodes protect propellers, shafts and hull. Here you'll find the most common replacement anodes.

Frequently asked questions
Which anode do I need for my Volvo Penta?▾
The anode depends on the drive or shaft model; each one has its own reference. Tell us the Volvo Penta engine or drive model and we'll give you the correct zinc anode.
How often should zinc anodes be replaced?▾
In warm salt water like Panama's, zinc is consumed quickly. Inspect them every few months and replace them when they're about half consumed, without waiting for them to disappear.
Why do my boat's anodes wear out?▾
It's normal and desirable: the zinc anode is sacrificed so the propeller, shaft and hull don't corrode. The fact that they wear means they're protecting the metal, which is why they must be replaced.
